Pharmacy Corner

Welcome to the Pharmacy Corner

The pharmacy program in Delaware is operationally administered through the Delaware Medical Assistance Program (DMAP). Staffing for the Pharmacy Program includes a Pharmacy Director in conjunction with the DXC Pharmacy Team. The objective of the pharmacy program is to ensure that DMAP members have access to appropriate medications while monitoring utilization and cost-effectiveness. The rapid changes in the pharmacy industry and the importance of communicating new information to the pharmacy community are critical to the quality and continuity of care for Delaware citizens. Attention providers: Members eligible for DPAP will soon be receiving their cards and may be presenting them at pharmacies. While the benefits do not begin until January 1, 2019, the members’ identification numbers, BIN, and PCN numbers will remain the same as they were last year. If the profile information was previously purged, the information can be added to the patient profiles prior to the new year to allow for less work when the benefit is available. As a general rule, DPAP will be the secondary payer to the Part D plan.
